Enriched Air, also known as Nitrox, contains a higher percentage of oxygen than regular air. During the PADI Enriched Air Diver course, your instructor will teach you how to analyze cylinder contents, set your dive computer for enriched air, and plan dives within safe oxygen exposure limits.
You'll also learn the advantages and considerations of diving with enriched air, so you can enjoy longer no-stop time and shorter surface intervals on many dives.
How to Get Started
- Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, or hold an equivalent certification from another recognized training organization.
- Be 12 years of age or older.
What You Will Learn
Through knowledge development and practical training, you'll learn how to understand the benefits and risks of enriched air diving, analyze oxygen content in cylinders, set your dive computer correctly, and plan no-decompression dives using enriched air.

Course Setup
- Complete PADI eLearning online prior to your scheduled in-person session (approximately 2–4 hours).
- Attend classroom or shore-side theory training, including cylinder analysis and dive computer setup (approx. 1–2 hours).
- Complete the practical exercises and optional dives.
