FAQ

Can I take the course if I'm not a strong swimmer?
Yes, as long as you feel comfortable in the water. The course includes two basic water competency tests: a 200m swim (or 300m snorkeling) and a 10-minute surface float. While professional swimming skills aren't required, basic swimming knowledge will make your learning process safer and more enjoyable.
Is scuba diving risky?
Like any adventure sport, diving has inherent risks. This is precisely why we strictly adhere to PADI's global safety standards. Our focus is on scientific training and rigorous safety protocols to ensure you explore the ocean safely and responsibly.
Do I need to bring my own diving gear?
No, we provide a complete set of professional diving equipment. All you need to bring are your swimwear and a towel. However, if you have your own gear, you are more than welcome to bring it for personalized comfort.
How long does it take to complete the OW course?
The on-site training typically takes 3 to 4 days, covering confined water sessions and four open water dives. Please note that the PADI eLearning (theory) should be completed independently online before your arrival, so it is not included in the 3-4 day on-site schedule.
Do I have to attend a classroom for the theory part?
No. We use PADI eLearning, which allows you to study the theory at your own pace on any device (phone, tablet, or laptop) before arriving at our center.
What is the course pass rate?
At Big Blue Diving, we maintain a near 100% pass rate. Our goal is not just to get you certified, but to ensure every student becomes a confident, competent, and responsible diver.
Are there any health restrictions for diving?
Most people can dive, but certain medical conditions (e.g., asthma, heart issues, or pregnancy) may require a doctor's clearance. We will provide a PADI medical questionnaire for you to review before starting.
